Decorating with White

I love using the color white in my home to decorate with. It’s so fresh and clean looking. It tends to be my “go to” right after the holidays as I feel it’s like a fresh start and after putting away all the holiday decor I trick myself into “Spring cleaning” even though it’s only January. I think for me, white brightens up my home during the dismal Seattle winter. This picture shows my garden window in my kitchen where I displayed a glassy baby, a fresh gardenia plant, a small plaque and a large serving platter all in white. The green of the gardenia plant really shows up as well as the outdoor colors.

Try bringing in some white to your home whether its in some fresh tossed pillows, vases, a candle, a throw or even an area rug. You’ll be amazed how you can change the look of the room and brighten things up!
