Apple Marmalade Tart
Oh! this is the most simple and wonderfully light dessert and its not too shabby the next morning with your morning coffee either!
1 Sheet of Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry
1 egg, beaten
3 medium sized apples ( I like Fugi)
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of salt
1/4 cup Marmalade
1/2 tsp. Lemon juice
Preheat oven to 375. Roll out 1 piece of thawed Puff Pastry into a 8 x 13 rectangle. Transfer to a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Score a 1/2 inch border all the way around the edge of the pastry, making sure not to cut all the way through. Brush the pastry, inside the border with the beaten egg lightly. Peel and thinly slice the apples, toss in the lemon juice. in a mixing bowl combine the sugar, salt and cinnamon. Add the apples and toss to coat. Arrange the apples on the pastry layering them in orderly rows, making sure you stay inside the border. Using a spoon, drizzle the Marmalade over the top of the apples. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the apples are tender and pastry is golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature.
